Maison Mesbahi is a holistic home that offers healthy nutrition and conscious hospitality services. Our mission is to provide high-quality, fully organic, freshly cooked meals for busy professionals, families, or anyone seeking to use food as medicine. Hospitality is at the foundation of our service and we tailor cooking to our client’s individual needs. We vet like minded chefs and develop vibrant recipes for a convenient yet personal private chef service that fits quietly into your life.
Our intention is to use food that invigorates us and brings a brite charge of energy. We also want to show respect and give back to our planet and animals, by using responsibly raised, organic, wild caught and seasonal fresh produce. We do our best to source only the highest quality organic ingredients from farmers markets or local natural supermarkets, and we often harvest our own fresh produce from the garden. Chef Ferdaws is also a passionate urban gardener and grows a wide variety of herbs, spices, edible flowers, fruits, and seasonal produce. She truly believes that the role of food is to charge us with energy/ prana or the life giving cosmic energy in the body.
My Journey
Ferdaws Mesbahi is an Ayurvedic Chef, Holistic Nutritionist, Yogi, Conscious Being, and avid Globetrotter traveling to over 30+ countries to learn vast culinary flavors and immerse in cultures along the way. Through her travels, she discovered the wisdom of Ayurveda during her spiritual journey in India. She lived in ashrams, eco-sustainable communities, and worked at several permaculture farms. She was always eager to learn about personal self-development and holistic modalities so that she can heal herself from chronic pain and inflammation in her body. She quickly realized that if she wants to help heal others, she has to learn how to heal herself first. Ayurveda has been her foundation to her life-long commitment to educate and heal through food.
Born in Belgium and raised in a Moroccan household, Ferdaws grew up with an innate passion for home cooking. Both her parents were in the kitchen everyday cooking 3 wholesome meals daily made with only fresh organic produce, homegrown, locally sourced, and pasture-raised animals. [ Her mother? ] was an incredible cook and nourished her family with wholesome homegrown foods - often preparing freshly baked bread and homemade cheeses. Ferdaws was inspired by her and learned so much just by watching her and growing up smelling all the aromas in the kitchen. This was her first education into becoming an Intuitive Chef. Through the use of her 5 senses, Ferdaws often cooks using her intuition and without a recipe.
Her passion led her to complete a degree in Integrative Nutrition and Natural Medicine at the European Academy of Integrative Health and Wellness in Belgium. She then traveled to India to study Ayurveda in Varkala. This experience profoundly changed her life and dedicated to deepen her knowledge of study with Myra Lewin at Hale Pule in Hawaii where Ferdaws received her degree as an Ayurvedic Chef. During her training she learned how to bring sattva (purity) into meals by creating a harmonious cooking environment, how to manage her energy as a chef while applying sustainable cooking practices and understanding the role of prana (life force energy) in food.
In 2018, Ferdaws moved to Los Angeles and has been working as a Holistic Private Chef ever since. She specializes in healing foods for postnatal mothers, families, yoga retreats and private dinner events. Besides her passion for cooking, Ferdaws loves growing her own food, harvesting and hosting beautiful farm-to-table dinners in her garden or other unique locations in nature. She has a natural talent for hospitality, concept, set design and coordinating events.
Her intention is to share food as medicine - to heal ourselves and consciously connect with each other.
